PlotThe age of water has passed and the age of the sky has just begun. New ships are being manufactured to conquer the air currents, faster than water but far more treacherous. Different designs are being made into flying ships, each one mightier than the last and all marvels to both magic an science. But good times do not last, and as this great age of flight begins, so does another darker one. Sky pirates now freely roam the four skies, raiding flight decks and weaker ships as they had done for centuries on the waves. And there is a strange force growing, off to the east, where the sky is staring to get a deep red tinge, the colour of blood, and all captains that have been curious enough to venture into that area of the Kraken sky have not returned. -{Plot updates will be added as rp continues}- SkiesThe Kraken sky (Eastern) The Melque sky (Western) The Puro sky (Northern) The Shal sky (Southern) The Dusk BringerThe Dusk Bringer is a great ship, the outside is an almost exact replica of the ships of old; a black mast pointing up to the sky, though no sails or rigging were attached to the tall pole now, it's only purpose now was to act as a lightening rod, to nullify the power of an electric storm on the ship. During the day the entire ship is a gleaming white, from top to bottom, but, although it may just look like cured wood, there is actually a thick layer of a magical crystal that coats the whole of the outside of the ship; absorbing the light from the sun and the moon and transferring it into energy to power the great engines in the bowls of the ship. The inside of the ship is not nearly as glamorous as the outside, almost all metal interior, with a few patches of wood here and there. Basic crew quarters and kitchen and a basic storage hold just above the engine hold. There are a few weapons such as harpoons and cannons lining the decks and a razor sharp crystal blade protruding out of the prow of the ship. "MIN! HAND ME THAT WRENCH NOW!" Barnes cried as he desperately tried to keep a bolt from flying off one piece of machinery with a clamp. Minny finished cooling down one of the larger engines before throwing her spanner at Barnes, "Catch, uncle!" A short arm shot out from underneath a whirring machine and caught the spinning wrench, then withdrew. There were a few grunts before the short mechanic emerged, his angry face and mustache drenched in oil, "MIIIN!!" Minny flinched and scratched the back of her neck, "Yes uncle?" Barnes' mustache bristled unpleasantly, "When I ask for a wrench give it me straight away! Don't just finish what you were doing first!" "Yes uncle, I-" "And call me 'Boss' when we're at work!" "Yes Unc-" Minny put a hand up to her up to her mouth and smiled, feeling a trickle of sweat rolling down the side of her face, "Oops.." Barnes' face reddened and he chucked the wrench at Minny's head. Minny's eyes widened as she ducked, feeling the metal skim her head before hearing a clunk as it hit the engine behind her. She slowly turned around, a look of horror on her face. "I-IDIOT!!" She yelled as she ran over to the engine and desperately tried to tug the wrench out of it's gears, "Chris! Some help over here please!"

Chris felt the sweat trickle down the back of her neck and the light perspiration coating her body made it hard to grip her tools as she tried to keep her grip on the wrench she was using. Finally succeeding in her task and watching the bolt screw into its proper place, she swept a hand over her bow, taking in a deep breath as she heard her name called. Never a moment's rest... Chris really didn't mind that much despite her grumblings. Swiftly standing, she loped over to Minny. Arriving behind her, Chris peered over the smaller girl's head to see what she was tugging. Her jaw dropped as she saw the thing lodged in the engine and firing a quick curse under her breath, Chris slid to the side of Minny to grasp the warm metal wrench, knowing that her bigger size would be able to get it out much more efficiently. "Min, the moment I get this thing out, grab that gear and sort it out... Ready?" Without waiting for an answer, Chris gripped her fingers tighter round the steel, her muscles ripping beneath her golden damp skin, and leaned her shoulder back giving the strongest tug she could on the wrench, twisting it as she reached her limit.
Felix smiled as he felt the cool wind sail over his skin as he arrived on deck, his good mood lingering as he saw the Captain at the wheel. Pushing his hands in his pockets, he sauntered over to the man, drawing up not far behind him. "Not too far then Cap'n?"

Tommy hangs his boot over the side of the crows nest watching for any activity as he rocks with the ship he jingles slightly glimmering in the sun at times as his blades show.

Minny nodded, pulling a thin angled tool out of her back pocket and jamming it between the wrench and the gear, helping to lever out the wrench at the same time as pushing the gear back into place, she gritted her teeth as she saw the gear had bent slightly. She let go of the thin tool with one hand, flinching as this made the tool dig into the palm of the hand which was still holding it, piercing into the skin. Ignoring the pain, Minny reached into a pocket, pulled out a small hammer and began gently tapping the hot gear back into the right shape, blood leaking from her other hand as she pressed harder with it. Finally the gear seemed to be back to it's regular shape; Minny grunted as she pulled out the thin tool, the wrench coming with it, as she fell back onto the floor she watched the engine whir back to how it was before the wrench incident, only a slight grinding sound as the two effected gears rubbed together.
"Shouldn't be." He smiled as he scanned the horizon, he could now see the lights of the port, "Ah.. Can't wait to get some of the sweet amber nectar in me." A small frown creased his brow, " 'Course I'll have to pay the shipping federation a visit first.." Laslo's stare was hard as he looked out across the sky, he'd had many quarrells with the federation before now... In his opinion, 75% on all profits was just too much to give away to some pompous fat men, "They say they use the money to protect from pirate attacks.." The captain's face was grim as he spoke his thoughts, ".. But I doubt it's used for anything more than lining their greasy pockets.." He trailed off, thinking deeply to himself as the port got closer, his knuckes were now white as he clenched the wheel.

Tommy yawned and streched opening his yellow slitted eyes and yells down. "LAND HO!" Tommy jumps off the crows nest sliding down a rope attached to the mast. He hits the deck running up to the Captian. "Port 5000 Strides and closing. Cap'n"

Laslo blinked as he snapped out of his daze, the port now closing in, small figures hurrying about their daily business on the crowded docks, "Thanks, tell the other crew members that we're pulling into the port." He sighed and turned his attention to sailing the ship, his finger flickering over the switches, lowering a few slightly whilst raising others, this done he steered the ship into a dock as the eingines slowed down. Despite the fact that the day was only just creeping into the early hours, the dock was full of feverish activity, and already some men -seeing the Dusk Bringer pulling into the docks- where already standing on the wooden platforms either side of where the ship was going to berth, ropes to help secure it twirling in their hands.

Smiling as the gears and engine were sorted, Chris glanced round to Minny to slap her on the back and start rambling about how she was gonna get the smaller lass totally bladdered in the port before her face dropped as she saw the blood. Casting a worried look to Min, she moved to stand closer to the girl. "That looks kinda nasty. Want some help sorting it out?" Being a brand new blacksmith, she still had her fair share of injuries and knew how quickly they could turn bad on a ship like this 'un.
Felix's emerald eyes narrowed slightly as the Captain spoke, his own thoughts fixed on the Federation. "True... Want some company or do I get, 'Babysit the crew and make sure they don't get too drunk' duty?" A light smile was upon his face trying to up his favourite Captain's mood, his eyes sparkling as the weak Sun finally hit the 'Bringer. He pivoted on one foot as Tommy came towards them from the nest, yelling about the port. Turning back, Spence noticed the guy was right and the port was indeed much closer than it had been.
Ryan had just been arriving on the deck as Tommy announced shouted out. With a sigh aimed at nothing in particular, he shoved his hands deep in his pockets and flicking a stray bit of red fringe out the way, he trudged to the edge of the deck. Confirming the presence of the port for himself, he set about finding his boarding team among the crowd to inform them he would probably be gone for most of the time again.

Tommy runs over to Minny and the others, "Almost to port get ready for teh Ale to flow." Tommy laughs running back up to the mast climbing up the rop with his arms a perching at the top. "2000 strides till port!" He yells down to the cap'n and Felix.

Minny looked over to where Tommy had been stood, a strange manic look on her face. She was stood over Barnes, the slightly bent wrench clasped in her fist inches away from his head. The short man who had been cowering under her fury scrambled away as Minny was briefly distracted. Minny looked down to where Barnes had been and snorted angrily, her eyes scanning the engine room for him, her eyes found him quickly, and he froze under her gaze like a deer caught in car headlights. A demonic smile lit her face as Minny marched over him, raising the wrench once more... "Ahhhh!!! Wait! Er... If you don't kill me I'll let you drink some beer when we get to Port!" Minny's face brightened and she let her arm fall to her side, "Really?" Some of Barnes gruffness returned as he realized the danger was over and crossed his arms, "Just a little...." He sighed and scratched the back of his head, "If my brother knew I was letting you drink he'd turn in his-" "Thanks uncle!" Minny interrupted his mumbling cheerfully and patted him on the top of his head -much to his annoyance- and bounced cheerfully over to Chris, "You said you had something for my hand?"
Laslo guided the ship into the dock carefully and, as the men below began to sling ropes over the ship to secure it, pulled down almost all of the switches in front of him, turning of all the engines except the ones that were needed to keep the ship airborne. He turned to Felix, smiling grimly, "It's ok, I should be able to handle it. I'll join you all at the bar later." Laslo began to walk forwards, absent mindedly watching groups of his crew leaving the Dusk Bringer and heading off into the port, laughing and joking around. Laslo himself was about to leave the ship when a sudden thought struck him, he spun round and called back to Felix, "Oh, and make sure Barnes doesn't get too drunk again..." Laslo ran a hand through his short hair, "All that damage just because someone called him 'shorty'.." He muttered before ignoring the gangplank and jumping over the side of the ship to the docks below.

As the ship settled Tommy was already half way down the mast. "Who is up for a venture to the bar?!" Tommy almost danced his jacket jingling with his movement. His yellow eye glimmered with excitement.

Jake strode along the deck of the 'Bringer, whistling an odd tune to himself as he looked up at the steadily lightening sky. Wondering what he would do when he got into port he stopped walking and absently mindedly stroked the shiney metal shaft of the harpoon he manned, pausing his whistling as he heard Tommy's shout. Smiling to himself he walked over to the excited Crow, hands disapearing into his pockets. "I'll join ya.. I've got nothing else to do, but you're buying the first round!"

Felix threw Laslo a wry grin and clapped him on the shoulder before the other man vanished over the side of the ship. Fingering the hilt of his dagger, he slid it out of his belt and in one swift movement pushed it into his boot. Now for Barnes... He sauntered down to the engines intent on locating the three engine lurkers.
Chris smiled at the exchange between Minny and her Uncle and and grinned as the smaller lass came bouncing back. "Yup, that I have." Chris produced a rolled up bandage and tape from her pocket in a spectacular movement and presented them to Minny with a playful wiggle of her eyebrows. Unrolling the wad of bandage, she motioned to Minny to hold out her hand while she snapped off the right amount. She gently laid the bandage over the wound before wrapping it round her hand with the right amount of pressure and securing it with the tape. "There ya go, that should be enough to keep it clean for while." "That it should." Chris' head snapped round to see Felix slouched against the door frame an impish grin upon his face. "And you know all about injuries don't you with your clumsy metal bashing." He tossed her a maverick grin as he waltzed over to the two girls, his emerald gaze flicking round for Barnes. Chris huffed at him, poking him in the chest. "Says you. I'm surprised you're not dead with your dagger and sword in the state they are. You should let me see to them at some point." Felix tossed a teasing grin back to woman as he turned away playfully, waving a hand. "Yeah if I want the things ruined." Spotting Barnes, he waved at the other man to attract his attention, "And you! I've got orders not to let you get too drunk so be warned." He fired a demonic grin to smaller guy while his green eyes sparkled mischievously.

Barnes folded his arms across his chest, mustach bristling and a guilty glint in his eye, "Me? Drunk?.... I don't know what you're talking about.." Minny snorted, "Yeah right...You old hypocrite!" "Hmph!"Barnes unfolded his arms and rubbed his flat cap on to of his head, "Well, I best be off and getting some more parts for the engines.." He grunted and began to walk up the grated stairs turning at the last moment and yelling, "And don't you drink too much!" before hurrying upwards and out of sight. Minny sighed and muttered to herself, "Old grump..."

Felix gave a wry shake of his head at Barnes. Throwing a wave at the two girls, he motioned after the shorter man with a grin. "I'd better follow him to make sure he's not sneaking pints." Sliding his thumbs into his belt loops, he waltzed up the stairs after Barnes.
Chris grinned and slung an arm round Minny's shoulders after Felix left, leaning close to whisper. "Now that your Uncle's gone, what say we go grab a few pints?" Her hazel eyes sparkled as she fired a sidewards glance to Minny.

Minny's face brightened, "Yeah! C'mon, let's go." She said cheerfully and raced up the stairs, half because of the prospect of drink and half because of the fact that she hadn't breathed fresh air in hours. Breathing in deeply she stood on deck, glancing across at Jake and Tommy.
Barnes slowed his pace as he heard footsteps behind him, waiting until Felix drew level before speaking, "I don't need my own personal guard y'know." He grunted, twitching his moustach in annoyance, bristling slightly at the fact that he had to crane his neck upwards to talk to the young vice captain. "Hmpf.. Well, you can help me out if you're going to be tagging along."
Laslo walked down the wooden streets of the port, frowning to himself as he marched on towards the shipping federation, a few people hurried down the streets, yawning as if they'd just got up. Laslo stopped walking abruptly, a shiver running up his spine as he turned his attention to his surroundings, somehow he'd gotten himself into an empty alley way. Laslo paused and scratched his chin -his fingertips brushing against a thin layer of scratchy stubble- wondering where he was, when a gust of cold wind blew down the alley, carrying a strange scent that made Laslo's nose crinkle in dis-taste. "Well, well..." Laslo spun around, his hand straying to the sword in his belt, he had been sure the alley was empty before, but now there was a mysterious man stood a few feet in front of him, wearing a strange cloak with with thick belt straps running across the chest and wrapped around his arms. The man was staring at Laslo with an odd glint in his black eyes. "I wonder how... Well, it's of no importance. I'll just take it from you." The man raised his arm till his open palm was pointing straight at the strange orange markings on Laslo's torso. (( check his profile for his markings )) Laslo grunted in pain as the markings began to glow a deep red, the skin around them feeling as if it was trying to pull away from him, the section of his body where the markings were feeling as if it was getting stabbed repeatedly with hot pokers. Laslo cried out in pain wanting to hunch over and vomit but some strange force kept him upright; the man's ghostly white lips tweaked into a smile at the sight of Laslo's pain, a faint black outline was begining to take shape infront of his palm. Laslo gasped as somehow the mindnumbing pain increase, sweat trickling down his face, he gritted his teeth as the pain threatened to send him into madness when a familliar cry was heard over his shoulder. "Hey, Cap'n!" Laslo's eyes widened -as the man infront of him disapeared, the pain vanishing along with him- then rolled upwards as he dropped to his knees and collasped onto the pavement.
Barnes mouth dropped open as he saw Laslo fall, the cigerette he had just lit falling to the ground, "Cap'n!" He cried again, though this time his voice was filled with shock at seeing his boss collapse. He hadn't seen the other man at all. He ran forwards to Laslo's aid, leaving Felix behind him.

Taking off after Minny, Chris threw herself up the stairs with a bright grin gracing her face. Emerging on deck, she took a huge breath filling her lungs with natural air, enjoying the lack of dust and smoke. She tossed another grin to Minny before following the smaller lass' gaze towards two lads.
With his squad informed and after watching them disembark and head towards their favourite spots, Ryan closed his eyes, quietly enjoying the feel of the gentle wind upon his face and blowing through his hair. Opening his green eyes again, he located Jake and Tommy with his keen gaze. A strange smile curved onto his face as an unfamiliar feeling crept up his spine. He had to go with the two of them. Somehow, he knew he should. A small, yet genuine smile flashed over his features as he wondered how they would react to the quietest kid on board appearing next to them. He arrived beside them and put forth his best face, a gesture which rarely was used. "I was wondering if I could join you?"
Felix grinned at Barnes as he grumbled about his guard. "Sure thing Mr Barnes," he tossed a smile to the other man as he walked beside him. ---- Encountering Laslo and the man, Felix felt the warmth drain out his body. His limbs went numb and his hearing seemed to cease and he saw the guy he looked up to in that much pain. At Barnes' yell however, he snapped out his shock as a dangerous snarl twisted his usual placid features and his fists curled at his side. He was just about to jump and beat up the mysterious man with every essence of his being when the guy disappeared. An angry spark passed over his face as his green eyes burnt before he ran over to his Captain's side. Although Barnes was tough, he knew the guy wasn't tall enough to carry Laslo. He slid his fingers round to the man's neck, a sigh of relief escaping him as he felt a shallow, yet steady pulse. Slipping his arms under Laslo's body, Felix pulled the man up as he stood, his strong arms gripping the Captain securely to his body. Casting another look to his Captain's face, Felix shot a strange look to Barnes. "Come on." As he slipped into a run, still keeping Laslo secure, Felix's thoughts raced. You're not gonna die on me. I won't let you; and I'll find the guy that did this to you. I swear it.

Laslo blearily opened his eyes, numbly looking down at the blur of ground rushing beneath him, the markings on him burned dully as his mind strayed back to that man, pain erupting inside his skull. He groaned and raise his hands to his head.. Willing the nightmarish pain to retreat.
Barnes was having trouble keeping up with Felix, his short legs not being able to keep up with the Vice Captain's long stride. He cast a worried glance upwards at his young captain, yelling to Felix to stop as he realized that Laslo had woken up. Felix nodded and set Laslo on some wooden steps, letting his shaking back lean against the wall. Barnes stopped running in front of the captain, putting his hands on his legs, his chest heaving as he fought to catch his breath, "Wh-What happened C-Cap'n?" He wheezed.
Laslo's boy shuddered as he began coughing violently, eventually stopping as he spat out some blood onto the floor. His hands fell limply onto his lap as the pain in his head receded. He looked down to the orange markings and touched them; his fingers shrank away from the the heat that remained there and Laslo shook his head mutely at Barnes' question.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Jake looked up to see the two girls staring at him and waved them over, laughing "Hey! We were thinking of going to the bar! Wanna come?! Tommy's buying the first-" He stopped yelling as his frantic waving made his hand accidentally clipped against Ryan shoulder. Jake span around on one foot to see who it was behind him, waving his arms as he overbalanced slightly; once he had landed back on two feet again and steadied himself he grinned and clapped Ryan on the shoulder, "Sorry 'bout that mate! Do you want to come aswell?" Jake went beside him and nudged him with an elbow, nodding towards Chris and Minny, "'Specially since we've now got the company of two loveerly ladies?"

Ryan smiled properly for the first time in a while. "Sure." He glanced over to Chris and Minny, his bright gaze watching the two engineers. He knew their names and he knew that one was younger than him while the other was older, but that was all he really knew about them.
Chris grinned at Minny, "What say we accompany the lads and show them how much engineers can drink?" Her hazel eyes sparkled as the grin lingered on her face. She slid her hands behind her head to tighten her bandanna and tug a tendril of hair from the knot all the while, a cocky grin upon her face.
Felix lightly pushed off the wall he was leant against to catch his breath with his finger tips and moved over towards Barnes and the Captain. Sitting down beside Laslo he tossed a concerned look to Barnes before looking back to the Captain. His emerald eyes darkened in worry at the sight and his mouth was a tight, thin line as he resisted cursing the man in black as he cast his gaze to the floor. The fire in his gut was growing with every second as he witnessed the changes in the Captain. The fact was that Felix hadn't respected anyone else as much as he did Laslo and the sight of the man made him want to rip the mysterious guy apart. Instead, he steadied his voice and after swallowing to try and remove the lump in his throat, he turned towards Laslo again. "We need to get you back to the ship Captain."

Laslo shook his head and grunted, using the wall to push himself upright, "No... I'm..." He grunted as he felt a few fresh stabs of pain around the markings, "I'll live." He smiled and stood upright, forcing his quivering muscles to work properly, and wiped his brow with the side of his arm. "The last thing we need is the Federation on our backs.." He started to cough again but after a few seconds he regained his composure, "You two go down to Rose's bar, I'll meet you there later." And with that he strode confidently off, not faltering in his steps once, even though a dull pain still wracked through his body."
Barnes raised his eyebrows at Laslo's determination, but said nothing.. Knowing it would do no good to try and dissuade him, "C'mon, we best get the engine equipment.."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Jake laughed, "C'mon then ladies, men.... Let's be off and getting some ale in!" He cheered merrily and did a strange jig as he went down the gang plank. Minny grinned at Chris "Aye aye!" She shouted and chuckled at the strange harpooner before following him calmly down the plank, laughing as Jake managed to trip at the bottom and fall flat on his face.

Felix didn't bother arguing, knowing well how stubborn the Captain was as Laslo walked off. His gaze flickered back to Barnes at the sound of his voice. "Yeah..." He stood and firing one last look after Laslo, he fell into step beside the smaller man, noting his breathing. "You alright? Guess I ran a little fast, eh?"
Chris grinned at Minny and joined in laughing as the harpooner fell, following up behind.
Ryan walked along with the others, a light smile changing his face entirely along with his sparkling eyes as Jake met with the dirt in a sudden blind-date.
